The Palace Church – an art historical site

The palace church with its two 55-meter-high domed towers of Rorschach sandstone is Friedrichshafen’s landmark and today it’s one of the famous Upper Swabian Baroque buildings. Learn about the interesting history of the Palace Church, which was built from 1695 to 1702 from the former monastery Hofen and extended through the new constructions of the convent buildings with a church at the end of the 18th century.

Bodensee Navigation – then and now

On this tour, you will discover interesting and curious facts about the history of navigation Lake Constance – from the early cargosailors in the Middle Ages and steamboat fleet from the 19th and early 20th century to modern day cruise ships and ferries of the “White Fleet.”

Discover Friedrichshafen from the water

Take a tour with the MS Seeschwalbe, a nostalgic mahagoni boat, and experience sights such as the Schlosssteg (palace pier), and the Schlosskirche (palace church). Tours take place only in good weather, from May to September.

On request, we arrange a local tour guide who will tell you interesting facts and anecdotes about the history of the Zeppelin town during the tour.

A historic time travel by bicycle

The approx. 2-hour tour takes you to Friedrichshafen’s landmark, the Baroque Schlosskirche, and to the former flak barracks, today’s headquarters of the Cooperative State University and Zeppelin University. Passing apple orchards, you reach the highest point, the Kirche Berg, with a limitless view on the urban Friedrichshafen. The return journey takes you to the historical monument Zeppelindorf and through Riedlewald back to the starting point, the Tourist-Information Centre.
